Public Speaking
Graduation Speech
I got the honor to speak at my high school graduation. This was by far my biggest speaking challenge to date, and I preapred like it. This was an incredibly fun and rewarding experience, and demonstrated my abilities to speak to very large audiences.
Meeting with Lee Hawkins (GA state representative)
I spoke on behalf of the Flowery Branch marketing program as to what CTSO funding achieves. Career and Technical Student Organizations gave me all of the professional skills I have now, as DECA introduced me to the business world. It was an honor to be able to advocate for future students and their opportunities.
Fall LDC
With some help from my officers, I created an icebreaker activity for DECA members at a local Leadership Development Conference in Covington, GA. It came alongside several other icebreakers as a competition, and our icebreaker won the crowd vote.
I had also prepared a short workshop about how to attract new DECA members, and how to keep the old ones interested/involved. I was unable to connect to the internet, so I gave a great presentation by leaning heavily on my planned activity.
DECA Region Competition
At our DECA regional competition, my president and I gave an introductory speech to competitors, advisors, and volunteers. We uploaded the wrong version of our slideshow, which contained an error. Neither of us knew the error was going to be present, so this is a good reflection of our ability to improv situations.
